The Mortgage Process

This is how the mortgage process works...

Consultation with advisor

You have a consultation to assess your own individual requirements and select the best mortgage for you.

Agreement in principle

This is an initial on line process submitting your basic personal details to the lender to see if you are accepted for a mortgage on their terms. This can be done immediately by us for in office appointments and no fees are charged.

This helps ensure Estate Agents take you seriously and improves your negotiating position to have a lower offer accepted.

Full application

The full mortgage application is submitted to the lender. Assuming you supply all relevant information, this happens the next day. This is a substantial document but don't worry, we do everything for you!

Valuation

A property valuation is carried out by a valuer appointed by the lender. They are usually instructed within 2 to 10 days following the full application. You should also consider appointing your own surveyor for a more in-depth survey of the property.

Mortgage Offer

Once the valuation has been approved the lender will produce the offer. Copies will be sent to you, us and your chosen Solicitor.

Solicitor

Your chosen solicitor will do all the legal paperwork to complete your mortgage.

Protection

Ensure you consider protection in the event of death, critical illness, or loss of income. The house and contents will also need insuring from the day of completion.

You will be kept informed of what is happening at all stages and we will constantly chase on your behalf to ensure the mortgage is completed for you as soon as possible.
